NEW NEIGHBOURS, NEW GOAL

Dollar Save (which we live above) was closed for awhile and has now re-opened. I'm really glad, I like Dollar Save, it has served me well for crafts, hybrid costumes and cheesy presents. It means we have new neighbours. And by neighbours I mean they're turning our Car Port (not actually one - generally used for sordid secrets, cigarettes and spirits from the bottle) into some semblance of "home". There is a bed beside the toilet in which Chris and I planned to do many superbly fringe performances. Now instead we have a collection of people who fall asleep in their cars looking into our kitchen (and so they should sleep, they're there on average 20 hours a day), eating Roast Hut, banging loudly and .. sitting on the bottom of our stairs first thing in the morning. Her t-shirt said Love Life.

I have a new goal
It is that every week at my supermarket shop I have to buy something I don't usually buy
It doesn't mean that it has to be some unpronouncable foodstuff from papua new guinea
Can be a new pepper grinder (and god knows we need one)
But it must be bought
And used.
I am sick of everything I cook with.
So this week it is .. the humble parsnip
For some reason parsnips often seem to win rude vegetable competitions
Found a balsamic reduction
Roasted them
Saladed it
Poured the sauce over
Not bad not brilliant either. Probably should have gone for the age old honey-roasted parsnip but wanted to break out.
Still - I say yay for parsnips. Adding them to my diet.

In other news am considering naming my new work 'Karpet, Kraven and Karla Klamidia'
Thank you Molly for 30 fabulous new names
No one else found us funny but that is always the best jokes
